Phodographer Austin Lane in Huilloq, Peru Nov. 2008
Co-phodographer Sean Pfitzenmaier is surrounded by curious villagers. Watching the
portable printer produce a vivid photograph in under a minute is spell-binding. The spark of imagination the process supplies is an extra added bonus to the Dog Meets World experience!
As it began to slightly drizzle, this little boy grabbed Austin’s hat and will all the seriousness he could muster, firmly held the hat over the printer to protect it. It was obvious even to this young boy that the printer was producing something very valuable.
Printing Pictures in Peru!
Ohmigosh…My son and co-founder of DMW Austin with his coworker Sean wandered 30 miles in a cab off the beaten trail from Ollantaytambo to Huilloq on the advice of their hostel owner in Cusco. The peoples of the destination village are descendants of Incas speaking the Quechua and live a simple agrarian life wearing stunning native clothing. Let me tell you that the fashionista of the USA are meek and mild compared to this area’s use of bold and vibrant colors!
Confusion and interested was generated as the helpful cab driver tried to translate the mission. As soon as pictures printed and were distributed, for so many their very first, the American guys were a very popular………see if you can find Austin at the epicenter of the crowd. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
