Happy Independence Day to All from Dog Meets World!

Phodographer Leah Hudson in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, April 2009
It’s funny to note the touch of American influence in far flung areas of the world…. like the Harvard T-shirt this child was wearing. Dog Meet World wants everyone to influence others with personal affirmation through photography.
Michelle Obama said during the commencement address for George Washington University “know that when you serve others abroad, you’re serving our country, too. You’re showing the world the true face of America –- our generosity, our strength, the enduring power of our ideals, the infinite reservoir of our hope.”
Happy Birthday America.

Phodographer Carolyn Lane in Washington, DC July 2010
Today Foto was recognized as the first ever and “highly prestigious” PET OF THE MONTH in her Washington DC Newseum Residences. Little toy Foto of Dog Meets World was modeled after the real dog. Foto serves many important roles for the project….as a mascot, as the official ambassador to bridge language barriers and as the fun prop to help children unaccustomed to posing take a more natural looking photograph. Foto unifies all kids/families and the photos from around the globe.
The symbols of PEACE and LOVE on the front paws of the stuffed animal reflect the purpose of the photo sharing project.
Dog Meets World is about human dignity and the power of one. The intention is that the photograph fulfills a basic human need for acknowledgment, recognition and affirmation.
