College Phodographers in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, Jan. 2010
College students sharing their images constantly on Facebook, email and Twitter….they get the value of sharing photos, most especially a first photo! Daily Foto: Dancing for Joy in Kenya

NEW Phodographer Rob Willet in Kisii, Kenya, June 2010
Rob is a CPA from Los Angeles and volunteered on an international build for Habitat for Humanity in Kenya. He heard about Dog Meets World and enthusiastically embraced the project and recruited his fellow team members.
Rob’s said throughout the entire process, the adults and kids alike were smiling, laughing and enjoying their/our time together as well as playing with Foto and watching the photos print. Once we began to hand out the photos, the enjoyment continued as they were excited and overjoyed to have a picture of themselves and/or family to keep and share with others.
The moment I remember the most involved the village matriarch. She wanted to have a photo of her and all of the children of her village so we had them stand together for a group photo. Once we handed her the photo, she smiled from ear to ear, held the photo to her head, she looked up into the sky and started singing and dancing – which continued for around 10 minutes.
Daily Foto: In honor of Nelson Mandela’s 92nd Birthday

Phodographer Carolyn Lane in Smartietown, South Africa, Feb. 2009
Dog Meets World embodies the words spoken yesterday on the birthday of Nelson Mandela by his wife Graca Machel:
Today is an opportunity for millions of people around the world to look inside themselves and find those beautiful qualities as any human being has and say: “I am able to make a difference to my neighbor, to someone underprivileged, I can extend my goodness to other people”
Sharing a mere photo makes a difference, a simple act of kindness. This 28 year old man, John said this was the first photo he had ever had of himself!
Daily Foto: To smile or not to smile in Guatemala

Phodographer Allison Hillis in Zunil, Guatemala, Aug 2009

Smiling for a camera is a learned reflex….we are constantly told from childhood to “smile” or “say cheese”. Those in the world unaccustomed to photography often merely look at the camera. However, once the prints are made….smiles abound especially from this girl’s mom receiving her daughter’s first picture.
Daily Foto: Camera shy in Cambodia

Phodographer Gigi Ackeman in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Fall 2010
Gigi elected to take a GAP year between high school and college and included volunteering at MaDforGood in Siem Reap, home of the famous ancient temple of Angkor Wat.. After her first experience she excitedly emailed “I’m in Cambodia right now and I just used the Dog Meets World printer! I started taking photos and like everyone from the village swarmed around me. It was amazing to watch everyone see themselves in a photo for the first time. I’ll send you the pictures! Thank you for the opportunity to do this!”
Way to go young woman with a big heart for the world’s kids.
