Daily Foto: Now Thai kids connect with kids around the world through Foto!

NEW Phodographer Bailey Leuschen in Khao Lak, Thailand, May 2010
Bailey arrived a few weeks ago to do volunteer work at a school in southern Thailand. To introduce Dog Meets World, Bailey describes how she drew a big map of the world on the dry erase board and pointed to Washington DC (Teacher’s home) and Khao Lak, Thailand (Students’ home). “Then, I pulled out pictures of children from Haiti, Brazil, Guatemala, and South Africa holding Foto in each of their respective home countries. As my students’ eyes got bigger, I pointed to the countries on the map where each child came from. Then, I pulled out my own Foto dog from inside the photo bucket and the kids giggled in delight!
Happy to have their pictures taken with Foto, each child had a chance to strike his or her own pose with the stuffed toy dog. They could barely contain themselves as the printer immediately printed out their photos and the rest of the day’s lesson plan was pretty much impossible to teach!
Not only did her students feel lucky to have these pictures, Bailey said they also felt a sense of connection with other children around the world.
Daily Foto: Foto meets a parrot and kids in Panama

Phodographer Miguel Moreno in Boquete in Chiriqui Province, Panama, April 2010
Miguel is the official photographer for the American Ambassador to Panama. He was introduced to Dog Meets World and immediately saw the value of giving out personal photographs to children in need in his country. Since December he continues to take Foto and the printer with him on trips. This village is about 6 hours from Panama City in a lush mountainous region of Panama. He is proud to be a phoDOGraher for the project and tells everyone you too can join the community and touch lives with a small act that has a meaningful impact.
