NEW Phodographer Dave Lee near Lake Kivu, Rwanda, March 2010

Dave Lee just returned from Rwanda after seeing the gorillas in the wild and trying out the new hand-held mini-printer for Dog Meets World. Foto, the dog, and the printer created a bit of a wild scene too and he retreated to the car to print out the kids’ pictures. See the parents studying these first pictures. Anyone can carry this small printer when space is ultra limited and have fun sharing photos in the field. Follow Dave’s adventures in Rwanda at GoBackpacking.com.

Phodographer Marti Johnson in Kampala, Uganda January 2010

Marti, a recent college grad currently lives and works within St. Mary Kevin Orphanage, a facility home to over 150 orphans. Her job is to coordinate our child sponsorship program which provides for the basic needs to the children. Marti’s passion for photography led her to develop Project Perspective, a separate program to teach photography to the children in order to provide the world with a new perspective of African youth (Project Perspective).

These are some of her Primary Six students. To teach them about Dog Meets World she took and printed their pictures. She asked the kids in her photo class about owning pictures. For a majority, these were the first images of themselves that they have ever owned! The students are excited to share DMW with other children as student phodographers.
