Dog Meets Friends in New York City

Phodographer Brittany Lane with Honorary Phodographer Eric Pavony in NYC, March 2010
Foto, our little dog mascot was really the star of the night at The Brewskee Ball, which held a charity event on Thursday to raise money to get photos in the hands of children in need in the world. All guests rolling a skeeball game qualified for a keepsake photo with Foto. Two lucky guys scored over 630 and were ecstatic to receive their own Foto! Dog Meets World decor included a large logo banner and posters of kids from around the world, and the ceiling was covered with red, white and black balloons. Eric Pavony, the venue owner and Skee.E.O of the Brewskee Ball league, created specialty themed drinks, including one named Foto the Dog meets World. It was an exceptionally festive evening filled with Skeeball, Dog Meets Friends, laughter and a fun time…all for a great cause. Thanks Eric!
Daily Foto: Mirrored Delight

Phodographer Jane Kosut is pictured with some of her grateful subjects and Foto in Nuevo Chuatuj, Guatemala in July 2009
Jane was working as part of a medical mission group in Guatemala and took time to take and give photos for Dog Meets World. She said the experience was heartwarming and that her delight mirrored the reactions of these children and their mothers when she handed them their pictures. She strongly endorses taking Foto the dog and a printer whenever you travel in places of need.
Daily Foto: Compassion Counts

Phodographer Gigi Ackerman in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Oct 2009
Parade Magazine poll reported yesterday that today there is “a compassion boom of people helping others”. Gigi choose to take a year off before college and help these kids in Cambodia get their first picture. Dog Meets World is a simple and easy way to help others, by affirming them with their own photo! Foto, the stuffed dog loves fetching photos for the planet’s children.
Peace Corps Phodographer

NEW Phodographer Kristen Woodruff, Quebrada Grande de Nandayure, Guanacaste, Costa Rica Jan. 2010
Peace Corps Volunteer Kristen writes that former volunteer and phodographer Anna Myers “came back to visit. She brought with her this project which includes a totally sweet little digital printer with all the pieces (paper, ink, etc.). To Americans, a photo of ourselves is incredibly easy to come by. We probably have thousands spanning throughout our lifetimes. But here in rural Costa Rica it is very rare to have more than one or two personal photos and even then, the kids themselves don’t really have ownership of them. This non-profit project is just getting started but it has already spanned across the world as world travelers bring along the compact printer with them on their trips abroad. Peace Corps Costa Rica is Dog Meets World’s first initiation of the project in cooperation with Peace Corps. The founder hopes to expand this and have printers circulating Peace Corps countries as volunteers initiate the project. I implemented the project first during my girls youth group and it went over fabulously.“. Read more on Kristen’s blog.

NEW Phodographer Marti Johnson in Kampala, Uganda February 2010
Marti, a recent college grad has returned to work with orphans in the east African country of Uganda under Touch the World Uganda. These are some of her photography students from her Project Perspective that will be assisting her in practicing Dog Meets World. Marti noted “They were soooo incredibly excited about starting DMW! I explained that children all around the world have participated and that they were going to help capture the children of Uganda…. and then the printing- they watched every single picture come out!” Can’t wait to see the DMW photos that the students and Marti will share. Thank you!
