Denis served as the translator for the Dog Meets World photo tour to Haiti in April. He immediately took on the role of expert printer too! Denis so enthusiastically embraced the project, that we left behind equipment so he could continue to help get photographs in the hands of Haitians in need. This is just one of well over 100 that he has contributed. Thank you Denis!

Handing grandparents their first photos of their grandchildren is an incredible moment of sharing. I have photos from my childhood where I am interacting with my great-grandparents. Those images are beyond priceless, truly my family artifacts. The basis of Dog Meets World is for travelers to share their love of photographs with others!

Amy spent one week in July volunteering at Bajo Tejares in San Ramone, Costa Rica. Her assignment in the large group was to add Dog Meets World to enhance interactions with local residents. With a brand new camera she was thrilled to participate saying “Everyone on the trip was so touched at how much joy the pictures brought! I would never have imagined the impact it would have on them and on me!“. In fact, she is returning over Thanksgiving bringing along her family, including her own young children, to continue to photograph the children and families of the area.

Phodographer Prof. Patrick Fleming in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Aug. 2009

Fulbright scholar Prof. Fleming recalls the image of two young boys riding off on their oversized bicycles with their Dog Meets World photos in hand, from the S.O.I.D. (Supporting Orphans and Indigent People of Cambodia for Development Organisation) school for orphans in Siem Reap, Cambodia. While each classroom had a photo wall of the school’s children to attract donors, this was the first time the children had a photo made JUST for them to keep. He says he’ll never forget their smiling faces.
