Dog Meets World was incorporated one year ago! This unique nonprofit was formed to convert ordinary travelers into citizen diplomats. To take the cultural phenomenon of personal photography to the world of need. To re-balance the inequity of travelers merely TAKING pictures to practicing on-site PRINTING & DISTRIBUTING & SHARING photographs for the subjects whose image has been captured. It is a simple and elegant in concept and practice; an idea that’s time has come!
So what has Dog Meets World accomplished in a year? Outlining the idea, naming, incorporating, assembling a board, designing a logo, manufacturing the custom Foto dog, writing concept papers, talking to 100s of individuals, earning 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity status, emailing like there’s no tomorrow, taking the idea into the field by 32 phodographers distributing about 2000 photographs in 9 countries to mostly first-time recipients, creating a video, putting up a fabulous website to tell the story, holding a Launch Party for 250 persons, raising funds and generating thousands of smiles and joy on both sides of the camera lens.
JOIN US as we acknowledge others in our world with a small gift of a photograph, tangible joy to celebrate their lives.
