On a Dog Meets World photo tour to Haiti we agreed to photo the children in the Blanchard school. As their education is provided by sponsorships, the sponsors annually receive a small picture of the student along with their report cards. In our initial conversation we stated we would be taking pictures of the children of the local village, as the Blanchard school children obviously had yearly photos……….after a pause the principal stated that the children do not receive a copy of the photo sent to the sponsors because it is too expensive! In fact the camera used by the service is not digital and they don’t even see their image. Wow, blew away my assumption. Our gift photos cost less than 30 cents. A small gift with a lasting impact.

Principal Jacky Dorleans wrote “during your stay in Haiti you made hundreds of people happy by not only taking their pictures, but also by handing them out almost instantly. Merci, Merci beaucoup on behalf of our students.
