The Daily Foto: August 12th

While practicing Dog Meets World at an apartment complex, I was honored to be asked to go upstairs (3rd floor) to take a picture of this disabled girl. Her mother said it was very difficult to bring her downstairs and outside. Her body deformed, she could not walk or talk, but her modest and committed family had her so attractively dressed and her hair in beautiful ribbons for her first picture.

Allison, was on her fifth trip to Guatemala, and she honestly said she was somewhat nervous about how the picture taking would be received. After practicing Dog Meets World multiple times she now contends, This photography project is awesome. Not only does it give a gift to everyone involved, it is going to create a sense of unity from country to country and culture to culture. It works!

Early Phodographer Brandon McCullers in Guanacasta, Costa Rica, Nov. 2008
Brandon has been traveling back and forth to Costa Rica for years for work. He oftentimes has brought candy or trinkets for the local children. However Brandon said handing out personal photographs took the experience to whole new level and added real meaning and significance to their interaction.
