Phodographer Leah Hudson in Croix-Bouquets, Haiti April 2009
This grandmother posed for her very first picture in her life with Foto the dog. When asked in Creole by Pastor Leon Dorleans how old she was, she replied “she didn’t know!” Imagine a lifetime without photographs. Dog Meets World provided her with this indelible memory.
The Daily Foto: The Best Dogsitter

Phodographer Ray Makowski at the Launch Party for Dog Meets World, Aug. 2009
While off gallivanting around the world with the little stuffed likeness of my real dog Jazz, aka Foto, it’s imperative to have reliable dogsitter back at home. Matt Blocker is a dogsitter extraordinaire! They have formed a true bond and Matt volunteered to take care of the star dog, the canine inspiration for the Dog Meets World project, at the debut Launch party on August 24th. There have been a myriad of supporters of DMW, but Matt’s consistent care of Foto has been indispensable.

The Daily Foto: Innocence Captured

New Phodographer Amy Speckman in Bajo Tejares, Costa Rica, July 2009
With a brand new camera in tow, Amy Speckman resonated immediately with DMW…she said “Everyone on the trip was so touched at how much joy the pictures brought! I would never have imagined the impact it would have on them and on me! Taking their pictures gave me an opportunity to talk to them for a moment, ask them their name and their age and a few other personal questions while I was setting up each shot. I feel like I have 400 friends in this village now!” What a perfect definition of photo diplomacy.
